Our Song is Land of 1000 Dances Building:Today we built our robot and named him Mr Robo Exploring Mindstorm: Today we explored mindstorms. We learn't how to drive forward and make sounds.
Pedestrian challange: For the pedestrian challenge we had to start the robot a meter away from the pedestrian and drive forward towards him/her. The closer it was to the man, the more points we got,
Fast 360 Turn: To do a fast 360 turn we had to to do a 360 but really fast! That was heaps of fun.
Snake: For the snake to work the robot had to do a snake movement. We completed it, after a while.
Shimmy: Our shimmy just didn't work at all. It wouldn't stay on the spot! We ended up getting a 2!! Man that robot is a pain.
3D Shape: We had the choice of doing our own shape or do the square from the robot educator. Thats what we did. We did the square and got 3.
Dance: Today we chose our song (land of a 1000 dances). We also were working on moves for the dance.
Progress: 22/11/11:We worked out our first three moves for our song
29/11/11:We got our forth move in. We tried to get our fifth move in but the one that we wanted wasn't very good. So we tried another move but it didn't fit in as well. So we've asked another group for that move that we want.
5/12/11: Today we got our fifth move done at lunch time. The move that we wanted was to slow so it work out very well. We're trying another move and it seems to work out fine.
Our dance was probably the shortest dance in 5M. But we tried to fit the moves to the dance to make it in time with the music. As Ms Burns said she'd rather have a short dance with the moves in time to the music than 1 min 30 secs with moves out of time . We didn't chose the first option we just ran out of time .Our costume was very simple but we thought it was effective. It was blue with a green tie saying Mr Robo and a big red R was in the middle.
